So who are those guys?

Dean Johnson Design was founded in 1987 by Bruce Dean and Scott Johnson, two guys from different backgrounds starting a design firm for one reason, to offer a unique, creative perspective for businesses wanting to communicate their messages.

Bruce and Scott's first assignment was to create the Dean Johnson identity. An identity that was unique, different than anything else in the market. Something that spoke to the fresh new attitude that they wanted to convey. After hundreds of sketches, icons, type treatments, colors, patterns and textures a simple photograph caught their attention. It was a photo of two guys standing next to their car, honest and at ease, pausing and stretching in the middle of a road trip. Turns out one of the guys was a relative of Scott’s, the other his buddy. That photo summed up much of what Bruce and Scott felt about their new endeavor. Two guys on a journey doing it their own way.

Throughout the years we’ve updated The Guys, refreshing them for print, signage and web use. But the spirit remains the same. For Dean Johnson the journey continues to be unique, creative, honest and at ease.
